Following on the heels of a fantastic golf and dinner fundraiser held on 6 August at Harewood Downs near Amersham, Fergal O’Brien Racing held its annual Charity Golf Day in support of Dementia Carers Respite, its Charity of the Year for 2025/2026.
On 1 September, more than 20 teams of four enthusiastic golfers gathered at Brickhampton Court Golf Club for Fergal O’Brien Racing’s third Charity Golf Day — enjoying a great day of golf while raising much-needed funds for our charity.
Brickhampton Court is set in 200 acres of beautiful, rolling Gloucestershire countryside, nestled between Gloucester and the spa town of Cheltenham. Established in 1994, the complex boasts fantastic golf courses, a driving range and a welcoming clubhouse, making it the perfect setting for a charity golf day.
The golfers were predominantly racehorse owners, with jockeys Tom Broughton, Jack Hogan and Liam Harrison also taking part and adding to the racing connection.
The weather was absolutely perfect, the golf was competitive, and the food was delicious. The raffle tickets sold like hot cakes, with a fantastic selection of prizes on offer, and the auction was also a great success.
All in all, it was a wonderful day. While we are still waiting for the final figures, we are delighted to believe that the event raised around £3,000 for Dementia Carers Respite.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Chris Coley for organising such a fantastic event and to Max Kendrick for his invaluable support.
Finally, a very special thank you to Fergal O’Brien. His commitment to Dementia Carers Respite has been, and continues to be, nothing short of fantastic. We are incredibly grateful for his ongoing support and for choosing us as his Charity of the Year to make such a difference to the lives of people caring for loved ones with dementia.
Thank you to everyone who took part, donated, sponsored, bought raffle tickets, bid in the auction or simply helped make the day such a success.
We are hugely grateful to you all.
